Tawau : The BEC Core Group of Holy Trinity Parish Tawau held a 2-hour session on BEC - the new way of being Church to some 20 BEC coordinators on Monday, 20 April from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm.
The session began with a brief
introduction on BEC by Julita Kantod, a member of the Parish BEC Core Group, an advisory body. In her brief introduction she shared that 'BEC is
not only a way to strengthen the relationship between family members, it is
also another way of keeping the community closer as one big family within
their housing area / neighbourhood. BEC is a spiritual
gathering on God’s Word and faith experience aimed to inspire others to know
Christ in their life.'
Topics covered;
- How to form a BEC - Danny Carreon
- BEC Spirituality - Seminarian Walter
- The 7 steps on Bible sharing - Sr. Liza Agustine fsic
The participants are current BEC
coordinators and a few newly identified coordinators at their respective housing area. It is hoped that the basic knowledge on BEC will inspire them to conduct
their BEC sessions more frequent and consistent. Participants were requested to share with other BECs their acquired knowledge so that all BECs in Tawau will continue to grow and flourish.
At present, 16 BECs are actively conducting their BEC's gathering regularly. A few new BEC Core Group members were also present. The session ended at 9.30pm with light refreshment.
