Tawau : Sunday, 27th April 2014 was Octave Sunday of Easter which was also the Feast
of the Divine Mercy. The Divine Mercy Group of Holy
Trinity participated in the sunset Eucharistic celebration on t26th April, celebrated by Msgr. Nicholas Ong.
He delivered a beautiful homily, touching the hearts of the congregation. He said, 'The blood and water which
gushed out from the wound of Jesus symbolized the most fundamental of God’s
unconditional love for human kind. It is the memorial of our Baptism
and the celebration of the Eucharist which Christ has shed His precious blood
for us.'
He continued, 'Through Christ's suffering,
death and resurrection we experienced the total and complete Love of God, the
unconditional love. Whether we are aware or not; without God’s mercy and forgiveness and love we would still be in darkness. We would remain in the prison and slavery of sin.'
The divine heart of Jesus has taughtt us
about the wonders of “humility and forgiveness” and in the same time Christ showed us
the meaning of "Hope and Trust" in the Lord. Christ humbled himself to be
crucified for the sin of others, forgiving others though in moment of crucial
suffering. It is through this that the power of God’s love will be revealed and we as followers shall remain faithful witnesses.
Members attended a nine-day devotion of the
Divine Mercy. The devoted Divine Mercy Group held a luncheon fellowship on 27th April 2014
at the Parish Canteen, marking the close of the succesful 9-day devotion.
