Fr Paul Lo chairs the 2nd Diocesan Liturgical Commission meeting

Lahad Datu : The Sandakan Diocesan Liturgical Commission (DLC)  headed by Fr Paul Lo, the assistant rector of St Mary’s Cathedral Sandakan, held its 2nd meeting at the Parish Pastoral Council Meeting Room of St Dominic’s Church on Saturday 6th March 2010.

Fr Paul Lo, in his opening address, said that he was impressed with the full attendance of members of the Commission to the said meeting.

He went on to say, ‘Our presence here is a clear indication that we are serious to promote high standards as well as setting a uniform practice of liturgical celebrations in the entire parishes of the Diocese.’

The followings were resolved in the meeting;

#Further catechesis to reinforce on the format of the new GIRM which had been fully implemented in the Diocese effective 1st January 2010

#Organize a thematic kind of recollection for all members of the Diocesan Liturgical Commission and Parish Liturgical Committee

#Organize a study day on the understanding of ‘liturgy’ and ‘devotion’

#Adopt the use of  the new booklet on Sunday liturgy in the absence of a priest.

The meeting ended with a lunch fellowship offered by the host parish.
