Motivational and Spiritual Session For SPM students

DS / ST

SANDAKAN : 36 Form 5 Christian students of St. Mary's Secondary School attended a two and a half hour motivational and spiritual session by Anna Teresa Amandus, the Director of the Sandakan Diocesan Youth Office, last October 5, 2012.

The main purpose of the session is to make sure that the students are ready physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually to take the examination. The session also intends to touch the hearts of the students, uplift their souls, and encourage them as they approach the exam.

The most significant moment was when the students were asked to remain quiet, listen to God and thereafter to write down the message God intended them. Everyone took part in this session wholeheartedly and prayerfully.  According to Sr Lilian Unsoh FSIC, a teacher of the school and also the co-organizer of the program said that the letters were simple but bore much meaning, written through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

The inspired letters were handed up. Each name was called upon and the teacher would read out the letter. It was a heart warming moment because all students were asked to wear their "graduation attire" and it resembled an actual graduation day, receiving their scrolls - the letter from God, our Father.

The participants were advised not to loose focus on their study and to draw close to God always through prayers. 'For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.' (Luke 11 : 10) The Lord wants us to succeed only if we follow Him.

The upcoming SPM exam will be held on the 6 November 2012 to 6 December 2012. We wish all candidates 'Good luck and God bless.'
