Sandakan : Rev. Fr. Thomas Makajil celebrated Mass for the Secular Franciscan Order (SFO), the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, on the 04-10-2012 at the St. Mark's Church. It's was a joyous occasion for the local SFO which was just until recently set up in Sandakan. Most of the members attended the celebration.

After Mass members and Fr. Thomas adjourned to the Parish Hall of St. Mark for a fellowship. In her short speech Sr. Apollonia FSIC, expressed her gratefulness in God for the blessings on the SFO as well as Fr. Thomas for gracing the occasion. Whilst acknowledging the "infancy" status of the local SFO, she was deeply encouraged by the members' support and dedication. Fr. Thomas then also spoke of his delight of the SFO's growth before blessing the food kicking off the fellowship. Sr. Barbara of the Good Shepherd Sisters was also in attendance taking the opportunity to mingle with the members.
