Holy Trinity Parish Tawau : Holy Trinity Kindergarten Mission School organized a half day sports event, before school holiday, on the 25th May 2017 from 7 in the morning to 12 mid-day.
Out of 177
students, where one hundred and more are non-Christians, ranging from 4 to 6
years old, happily and joyfully expressed the moment of being “free” from study.
Some 150 or more parents came along to support and accompanied their children
in this program.
Other guests
were from the Holy Trinity Kindergarten Board of Governor ( BOG) members, Sr. Mary Martha Jonik, Seminarian Raymond Lee and the Social Communication (SOCCOM) members .
The event
began with the lining up of all students followed by marching into the field track,
simultaneously divided themselves into 8 groups according to its name: Love ,Peace, Joy, Grace, Hope, Trust, Charity
and Faith, derived from the gospel, to retain the ethos of the Mission School.
Once the
students have lined up, the national anthem was sang and followed by an opening
prayer led by Sr. Mary Julita Joseph, the Principal of Holy Trinity Kindergarten
School.
Mrs. Agnes,
the team leader of the event, in her short speech to all present, shared the
beauty of having Sports Day for the children. “It helps them to develop their
mind to be healthy and active children. This event also contributed in
fostering the spirit of brotherhood and also a sense of belonging, friendship
and unity among them” she said.
Together
with 11 other teachers and some volunteers from the parent programs, they
proceeded with the tally match and finally, with the giving out of presents to
the winners.
We have much
to learn from the students in their genuine happiness, while playing with
friends, regardless of races and belief. Sports day, which ended at 11.30 in
the morning, strengthened the spirit of unity and friendship as an example to
our future generation.
