Tawau: Seminarian Arthur John was posted
in Holy Trinity Parish Tawau from January 18th to May 18th, 2017 for Pastoral
immersion. He leaves with a happy heart and full of confidence besides being strengthened in his call to
the priesthood. 4th son of 5 siblings, he was
involved as an Altar server, Choir member, Music Ministry and the Youth
Ministry in his early exposure to the church.
Everybody will be praying for him as he leaves
for his second year in Theology at St. Peter Seminary College of Kuching. Likewise, that all of them will complete
their study and eventually serve God and the church.
Msgr. Nicholas Ong, in his short
sharing during the dinner, expressed his joy during seminarian Arthur’s stay in
Holy Trinity Tawau. “Seminarian Arthur is someone who is always happy and joyful and fully committed
to any given task. He accompanied me to
visit BEC family members, spend time in the Neo-Catechumenate session, visitation with the St. Vincent–PHDC, and visit the Community Learning Centre (Migrant School)" he
said.
In his sharing “My love to serve
the church and at the same time, the lack of priests motivated me on my
vocation to the priesthood”. My worries in coming over to Tawau vanished with
your friendship and hospitality. Your
friendship, guidance, and support made me felt like home; to be more confident
and strong in my calling. I felt God's love in your acceptance of me and in
every task that I do with God's help. I also felt happy with the presence of
my college Seminarian Raymond Lee
during my journey here at Holy Trinity," he said.

His message to the youth present
during the dinner: Do not be afraid to
answer the call to the priesthood and religious for it's very valuable and
rewarding. Do not be afraid of your age; be brave and step out from your comfort
zone. This vocation in your life would build a better world," he said.
Seminarian Arthur John, while in
Holy Trinity, contributed in delivering the talk for the Pre-marriage course
and Con validation talk, together with the Family Life Ministry. He also helped
in the formation of the new Altar Servers and other activities run by groups
and communities.
