RITE OF BLESSING ~ THE NEW CATECHETICAL AND PASTORAL CENTRE OF HOLY TRINITY PARISH TAWAU

Tawau :  Right after the 9.00 am Eucharistic celebration on 15th October 2013,  all faithful proceeded to the new Catechetical and Pastoral Centre behind the Parish Hall to witness the rite of blessing and official opening ceremony of the building.

All faithful gathered at the front of the new building for the rite of blessing and official opening graced by His Lordship, Bishop Datuk Julius Dusin Gitom assisted by Fr. David A. Garaman.

Before the rite proper, Thadeus Sibir the Chairman of the Building Committee extended his sincere appreciation to Archbishop John Wong of Kota Kinabalu, Bishop Datuk Cornelius Piong of Keningau, Bishop Datuk Julius, all clergy, religious and all parishioners from far and near for joining in the joyful moment, the Opening of the New Catechetical and Pastoral Centre. He gave a brief preview leading to the construction and completion of the said building with 14 rooms; one each for seminar, music, archives or resource center, LOM, gymnasium, catechetical, two dormitory-type rooms and seven rooms for Sunday School.

The ribbon cutting by Archbishop John Wong, Bishop Datuk Cornelius Piong and Bishop Datuk Julius as well as the unveiling of the official plaque by Bishop Datuk Julius marked the opening of the new centre. This was followed with the sprinkling of holy water at each storey of the 4-storey building. Parishioners took the opportunity to view the 14-room building including an observatory room sitting on the top right of the 4th floor.

A luncheon fellowship was held at the Parish Hall after the ceremony. Children from the Migrant School and Sunday School presented a few presentations.
