Tawau : Holy Trinity Parish Tawau formally launched the Year
of Faith on 1st December 2012 during Sunset Mass for the first Sunday of Advent. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Msgr. Nicholas Ong, the rector con
celebrated by Fr. David A. Garaman, the assistant rector.
Touching on the Year of Faith, in his
message to all parishioners, Msgr Nicholas said, "In this Year of Faith we encourage you to renew
and to deepen your faith about our Church and its teaching. That you may spend
time to read the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the documents of the 2nd Vatican Council.
"Share your knowledge and pass it on to your
friends, families, children and all are around you. Read and share with prayer
the Catechism of the Catholic Church with your family, in the school, in the initiation classes, work place, in the church or even through the social media“
he added.
The ceremony, just before the close of the Mass with the symbolic unscrolling of the banner was witnessed by the congregation. Msgr Nicholas then distributed copies of the Compendium of the CCC and Bible Study Guides to all group and
community leaders.
