SUNDAY SCHOOL (English Section) 2011 YEAR-END CLOSING

Sandakan : This year the closing of St Mary's Cathedral Sunday School Session of the  English section  was held on the 7th November 2011. Being a public holiday, parents took the opportunity to particpate in the event. Children started arriving as early as 8.00 am in preparation for the day's event. Including the students, close to about 500 attended the event.

Sr. Liliana fsic the Co-ordinator of the Sunday School in her opening speech expressed her deep appreciation to the animators for their enthusiastic service and support. In additon she also took the opportunity to thank the parents of the students for their dedication in ensuring that their kids are brought up in the faith. However, she reminded that though the Sunday School session is closed, faith building does not end. The closing actually means a pause only.

The year one and two students kicked off the presentation with their rendition of popular songs. This was followed by 4 students of the senior level who gave testimonies of their understanding of the sacraments of the Church. All gave a good insight into the introduction of the seven Sacraments.

Rosemary Neubronner Ngui the English section coordinator in her speech stressed on the need of closer and more active particpation of parents. She expressed her appreciation to the parents for their kind and understanding support. In addition she was also grateful to the team of her fellow animators for their voluntary service. She also took the opportuniy of thanking Sr. Liliana fsic for her service and guidance. Sr. Liliana fsic will be on transfer to the Diocese of Keningau next year.
