Members of the Parish CWA taking their pledge


Sandakan : Committee members of the St Mary's Cathedral Parish CWA (Catholic Women's Apostolate) headed by Annie Rokneh took their pledge during the Eucharistic Celebration yesterday, 14th November 2009 witnessed by the congregation and the celebrant, Fr Paul Lo.

Members of the Parish CWA comprise representatives of St Mary's Cathedral Sandakan, St Mark's Church Mile 12, St Paul's Church Ulu Dusun, Our Lady of Fatima Church Beluran, St Peter's Chapel Sungai Manila andSt Emmanuel Chapel Jaya Bakti. They are tasked to coordinate spiritual, social and welfare as well as service oriented activities of the said apostolate at parish level.

Sr Appolonia Gumbu fsic, the coordinator of the congregation of the Franciscan Sister of the Immaculate Conception for the Diocese of Sandakan is the Spiritual Assistant to the apostolate. The full line-up of the Cathedral Parish CWA for the two year term of 2009~2011 is as follows;

Fun time

After mass, members adjourned to a local club for a fellowship dinner where they celebrated the 31st and advance 4th anniversary of Fr Thomas Makajil ( rector of St Mary's Cathedral ) and Fr Paul 's (assistant rector) priestly ordination respectively as well as the birthdays of Sr Lilian Unsoh fsic and Annie Rokneh.

The event of the night included cake cutting ceremony, lucky draw and a light and easy moment of karaoke session and dancing.

The members will attend the upcoming annual Diocesan CWA retreat and assembly at Holy Trinity Church Tawau on 19th ~ 21st November 2009.
