The communicants with Fr Paul LoSandakan : Ten boarders of the St Mary's Hostel, attending catechism classes for almost a year received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion during Sunday Mass on 11th October 2009 at St Joseph's Church.

First Holy Communion, also known as Eucharist, is important and spiritually fulfilling as it signifies the journey to maturity in the Catholic faith.

Sr Lillian Unsoh fsic and Lucas Loli, a very much committed catechist had been preparing them for the said Sacrament. The boarders have been regularly attending Mass at St Joseph's Church which is of walking distance from the hostel and they will continue to take part in Communion at Mass.
