Sandakan : Four facilitators from Cahayasuara Communications Centre, the social communications department of the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia led by Sr Gertrude Tan IJS paid a courtesy call on Rt Rev Julius Dusin Gitom, Bishop of Sandakan yesterday, Friday April 20th 2012 at the latter's office.
The four-member team are in Sandakan to facilitate a two-day training on 'Creative Catechesis' in St Mary's Cathedral Parish, introducing various methodologies to make catechism classes more attractive, fun-filled and interesting. The training is organized by the Cathedral Catechetical Committee headed by Raymond Wong and as of date, more than 8o catechists have signed up for the training.
Sr Gertrude Tan IJS, an Infant Jesus Sister and a retired teacher is currently serving in the Penang Diocese Youth Network as a resource person involved in training and formation. She has also served in the Archdiocesan Social Communications in Kuala Lumpur for some eight years. Devid Gnanapragasam, his wife Faustina Shanti Selathdra and Patrick Prakash are resource persons in the youth ministry as well as resource persons for Confirmation retreats and First Holy Communion camps.
