The Paitan Mission reaching out to the less fortunate

Sandakan : The Paitan Mission Committee of St. Mary's Cathedral led by Henry Wong made a day trip to Paitan to distribute contributions to the local folks of Paitan on Sunday, 7th Febuary 2010.

The contributions were in the form of rice, can foods and dry provisions which were distributed to 29 families at Kg. Sulit and another 18 families at Kg. Batangon Darat. Both the said kampungs are accessible by road or by boat. It is some five hour drive from Sandakan town.

They also distributed 12 other contributions to the parishoners in Kg. Tigawi, Dalamas and Kg. Lubang Buaya.

Two weeks ago, they had made an earlier trip to the Paitan missionary area and distributed provisions to 111 families. As of date,  a total of 170 families had benefited from the project.

 

The contributions were donated by kind parishioners of the Cathedral through an appeal made last month in aid of the flood victims.
