甄選禮

（山打根訊）山打根堂於四旬期第一主日的華文彌撒中為二十位望教友舉行了甄選禮，此儀式由羅志康神父主持。這群分別來自聖瑪莉主教座堂和聖馬爾谷堂的望教友將在來臨的復活節前夕領受教會的入門聖事。神父也勉勵教友們要全心依賴上主的恩寵，好好準備自己以參與主的逾越奧跡。

山打根堂區之華文聖灰瞻禮彌撒

山打根堂華裔教友於2月17日晚上七時三十分在聖若瑟堂參與以華語為媒介語的聖灰瞻禮彌撒，主祭為回鄉歡渡春節的黃士交神父。

黃神父在講道中說：領聖灰是悔改的標記。在四旬期間，天主給予我們機會悔改、更新，因為祂要聖化我們。聖教會也藉此時刻提醒我們，我們來自灰土，將來也要歸於灰土，因此我們要回頭改過，信從福音。在這四十天的信德旅途中，我們要多祈禱，堅強我們的信德，也要常施愛德，幫助有需要的人。

講道過後，教友們井然有序的領受這 悔改的標記。

賀嵗不忘敬老

2月21日大年初八，主日華文彌撒后，聖瑪莉堂聖心普愛會聯合婦女組於堂區食堂，為長者準備了熱騰騰的新春早茶，羅志康神父也同來與長者歡聚一堂致以新春問候！神父欣慰普愛與婦女同仁賀嵗不忘敬老的精神，期望年輕一代增強敬老尊老的意識，傳承此傳統美德。早餐后，羅神父將满載紅包的紅包箱送到眾長者前，讓長者親手抽取紅包中的大紅包，當天的幸運長者陳燕萍抽中了幸運大紅包興奮地向大家搖晃，引來一片歡呼聲！

新春弥撒

(山打根訊)由山打根教區JULIUS GITOM主教主祭，堂區司鐸Fr. Thomas Makajil及羅志康神父共祭的庚寅年新春彌撒，在2010年2月14日早上七時正，於山打根聖瑪莉主教座堂舉行。

在外留學或工作的遊子們都及時回來參與新年彌撒，聖堂裡充斥著：“好久不見了，你好嗎?”之類的問候語，教友們的衣著更是鮮艷，一眼望去多是紅彤彤一片，紅色、桃紅、金色，聖堂內洋溢著喜氣洋洋。

彌撒前有擊鼓迎賓，強勁的鼓聲猶如今年的生肖代表---虎，充滿力量及沖勁。

教友們都響應上主的號召，“增產報教會”，孩童人數比往年增加，實在值得慶賀。其他語文組的教友也參與其盛，與華裔教友們一起在充滿喜慶歡樂的殿堂裡向天主表達敬意。

彌撒結束前，JULIUS主教祝聖年柑、團拜，派發紅包予孩童及青少年。主教、Fr. Thomas Makajil及羅志康神父也分別向華裔教友們致意感謝。

禮成詠後，教友除了在聖堂門口向主教及神父拜年外，也互相祝賀恭喜。萬和醒獅團受邀在聖堂外舞獅助興，精湛的“舞藝”讓教友們驚嘆不已。

Mesyuarat KBK dan KBP

Sandakan. 22 Feb 2010. Mesyuarat penganjur pelancaran diadakan di Bilik Mesyuarat Keuskupan dipengerusikan oleh Cik Anna Theresa Amandus selaku koordiator KBK. Persiapan rohani bermula pada 25 Feb dengan Novena serentak di 4 buah Paroki selama 9 hari sehingga 5 Mac setiap jam 7.30 petang.

Sandakan – Kerasulan Belia Paroki Katedral St Mary telah mengadakan Rekoleksi Belia untuk team kali kedua bermula pada Februari 13hb hingga 15hb, 2010 bertempat di Pusat Retret, Ulu Dusun.

Sandakan : The Chinese Pastoral Committee (CPC) of St Mary's Cathedral Sandakan organized a subscribed CNY dinner at the Cathedral Parish Hall on Sunday, 21st February 2010.

Bishop Julius celebrates Ash Wednesday at St Mary's Cathedral

Sandakan : All parishes throughout the Diocese of Sandakan celebrated Ash Wednesday Masses which also included the distribution of ashes to the faithful on 17th February 2010.

Bishop Julius Dusin Gitom celebrated the bi-lingual Mass (English and Malay) in the evening at St Mary’s Cathedral with an overwhelming attendance. The Cathedral was packed with many, having to stand at the entrance and the open space outside, throughout the celebration.

Season of Lent

Ash Wednesday, 17^th February 2010 and Good Friday, 2^nd April 2010 are days of fast and abstinence. Fridays of Lent are also days of abstinence. (Can. 1251)

Lawatan mengeratkan perhubungan

 

               

Telupid 7/2/10 - Buat pertama kalinya, team pelayanan koir paroki St Dominic Lahad Datu, St Paul Ulu Dusun dan Team pelayanan muzik belia St Mary Sandakan telah membuat satu lawatan muhibah ke St Martin Telupid.

Lawatan ke St Martin Telupid ini adalah kesinambungan lawatan Team pelayanan muzik belia St Mary Sandakan yang sebelum ini telah mengadakan lawatan ke St Paul Ulu Dusun dan St Dominic Lahad Datu.

Seramai 23 orang pelayan koir dan muzik dari ketiga-tiga paroki yang menyertai lawatan ini. Lawatan ini dilengkapkan dengan persiapan rohani yang dipimpin oleh Sr Liliana fsic pada malam sebelum lawatan tersebut di Chapel St Mary Sandakan.

Rector Paroki St Martin Rev Fr Marcellinus Pongking menyeru agar belia di St Martin dapat bergiat dengan aktif dalam pelayanan koir kerana koir amat penting dalam perayaan misa.

"Saya tidak sangka lawatan ini mendapat begitu banyak sambutan terutamanya daripada para belia St Martin dan objektif lawatan ini sedikit sebanyak telah tercapai" kata saudara Cristhoper Aban wakil dari Sandakan.

"Muzik dan belia memang tidak boleh dipisahkan, dengan itu saya mengharapkan agar mereka yang berminat dalam muzik sudi tampil dan menyahut panggilan dalam pelayanan di gereja" kata saudara Hildy Albert selaku kordinator koir St Martin.

Mereka yang menyertai lawatan ini masing-masing telah mendapat pengalaman baru dalam cara-cara untuk mengembangkan pelayanan koir di paroki masing-masing dan menyedari akan pentingnya tugas pelayanan ini.

Lawatan seumpama ini telah mengeratkan lagi hubungan di antara keempat-empat paroki team pelayanan koir dan muzik. 

 Antara aktiviti yang dijalankan adalah sesi suaikenal, tayangan slide, nyanyian bersama, perkongsian, beberapa permainan dan sesi bergambar bersama.

Bishop Julius took time off to attend the Chinese New Year open houses hosted by YB Datuk Edward Khoo, Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister Department Sabah and YB Datuk VKLiew, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister Department at Yu Yuan Secondary School hall and the Sandakan Sport's Complex building respectively on Sunday, 14th of Febuary 2010, the first day of Chinese lunar new year.

 Accompanying Bishop Julius were Fr Thomas Makajil, Sr Appolonia fsic and lay leaders of St Mary's Cathedral.

The open house concept creates an avenue for all the people of Sandakan to get a taste of the these important Chinese celebration. It is also a good opportunity to mingle with the people in an informal manner.

The occasion also featured lion dance performances and presentation of CNY songs and dances.

In the evening, Bishop Julius also attended the CNY open house of Ir James Wong the President of Majlis Perbandaran Sandakan at his official residence together with local dignitaries.

Perayaan Tahun Baru Cina di SDC Lahad Datu

Lahad Datu 14 Feb 2010 - Perayaan Tahun Baru Cina disambut dengan meriah oleh semua umat di paroki St Dominic Lahad Datu dalam misa pertama.

Perayaan ini dimulakan dengan perayaan misa oleh Rev Fr Simon Kontou.

Rev Fr Simon turut memberkati limau manderin dan mengagih-agihkan angpau kepada kanak-kanak dan para belia yang hadir.

Sejurus selepas misa, tarian singa dipersembahkan di kawasan gelangang bola keranjang gereja. Ramai diantara umat terutama kanak-kanak terhibur dengan persembahan ini.

Chinese New Year Celebration at Holy Trinity Church, Tawau

Welcoming the parishioners

Holy Trinity Church celebrated Chinese New Year with a New Year mass yesterday, 14th February 2010.
The Eucharist which started at 10 am was celebrated by Fr. John Wong, who came over from Kota Kinabalu   Archdiocese for the occasion, and was con celebrated by Msgr. Nicholas Ong and Fr Philip Muji.


Fr. John Wong started the celebration by reminding the parishioners that with the arrival of the new Lunar Year, the Chinese traditionally emphasize on using new things and good words. With that in mind, he urged us to listen well to the readings, as God’s words are always new and good for our salvation.



In his homily, Fr. Wong asked us to follow the gospel reading; that is, to have complete faith and trust in God.

2nd Anniversary of Fr Phillip Muji's priestly ordination

Tawau - Holy Trinity Parish celebrated the second anniversary of the priestly ordination  of Rev. Fr. Philip Muji. with a fellowship dinner at the parish hall on 7th February 2010, attended by some  200 parishioners.

In his sharing. Fr. Philip said that he had met a lot of challenges in the past 2 years as a priest.

“Life as a priest can be stressful and tiring, my faith is oftentimes put to the test but I know this is a long process of maturity a priest has to undergo”, he said.

Besides carrying out his pastoral duty, mostly at  outstation chapels, Fr. Philip is also involved in the BEC( visitation ) and sometime in the Neo-cathecumenate sessions.

青少年探訪仁愛關懷輔導協會和愛滋病援助協會

2月7日，聖瑪莉堂華文青少年偕同家長一行十餘人前往探訪山打根仁愛關懷輔導協會和山打根愛滋病援助協會，大家是由羅神父的帶領下進行初步的接觸。此二協會皆于2008年在山打根成立，肩負推廣健康生活的使命，並向有需要的人士提供關懷輔助。

當天大家于下午一時三十分首先抵達位于哩半牛車路的仁愛關懷輔導協會會所，受到該會正副會長及志工們熱情招待。會長羅思琼向大家講解協會的運作和服務理念，之後介紹學員的手工藝品，目前約有二十多位精神康复患者在該中心接受輔導。大家對於仁愛義工的服務與奉獻，深受感動，並在結束探訪之前，由青少年代表將愛心捐款捐予該協會。

大約三時，大家前往位于英達鎮的愛滋病援助協會會所，該協會為大家準備了有關愛滋病毒的問卷和小冊。同時邀請到任職肯特醫院的Dr Sindhu，以幻燈片為大家講解有關愛滋病的訊息和感染病毒的風險，也是該協會志願工作者的她，呼籲大家過一個健康的家庭生活，尤其幫助年輕一群提高對愛滋病病毒傳染的認識。

神父非常感謝此二協會極富教育性的講解，使大家對精神病與愛滋病有了更正面的認識，不僅提醒了大家在面臨此類困難時要及時接收輔助，勇敢面對，也幫助了大家了解此二協會對社會的貢獻，希望大家藉此激勵，推己及人，伸出援手使更多需要的人受惠！
