'Year of the Priest' launced at HTC Tawau

The 'Year of the Priest' was launched in Holy Trinity Church Tawau during the Sunset Mass on 3rd October 2009 by the Rector Msgr. Nicholas Ong assisted by his assistant Fr Philip Muji.

Though the 'Year of the Priest' was launched at the diocesan level by Bishop Julius Gitom at St Mary's Cathedal Sandakan on 29th August 2009, it was launched yesterday at the parish level to increase awareness among the parishioners of the need to pray for more vocations among our youth. This was made more urgent and crucial when we realise that our parish has no seminarian at present studying at St Peter's College Kuching.

It was also fitting that the 'Year of the Priest' was launched during the thanks giving mass of our rector's ordination anniversary. The rector appealed to the young men and their parents to pray for more priests for our diocese.
