Sandakan : The congregation of St Mary’s Cathedral Parish, Sandakan is counting the days as the Cathedral fundraising bazaar rolls around this coming Sunday 15th August 2010, in conjunction with the Parish Feast Day.
The Parish is all set for the ‘big day’. Right now, they are all in the ‘on your mark’ mood.
Peter Thien, the Deputy Coordinator for operation has this to share, “This is a project that brings the entire church family together and everyone works so hard to make it happen.”
The main working committee and other church volunteers, are currently in the church, working diligently in setting up the venue before the final day arrives. They are putting up canopies for the estimated 70 stalls selling foods and drinks, agricultural and poultry products as well as handicrafts. There are entertainment and game stalls which among others, provide horse riding, magic show, karaoke, wheel of fortune and raffle draw. There is also a corner for hairdressing.
On the bazaar day proper, the doors open at 8.00 a.m. and close at 3.00 p.m
