1st meeting of the Diocesan CWA for 2010

Sandakan : The Diocesan Catholic Women's Apostolate held its 1st meeting for the year 2010 at the Diocesan Meeting Room on Saturday, 23rd January to discuss on matters pertaining to the action plan for the current year.

The meeting, presided by Bishop Julius was well attended with members coming from the four parishes. In his opening address, he asked the members to renew and recommit themselves to serve with greater responsibility in the local church. He reminded them to discern deeply as they proceed to map out the program for the year, which should be spiritually filled.

The meeting was chaired by Annie Rokneh, chairperson of the Diocesan CWA. The following activities were resolved, which shall be carried out accordingly;

• Lenten Retreat on 27th March for members and other interested parishioners at respective parishes
• Leadership Seminar on 11th & 12th June at St Mary's Cathedral, Sandakan
• 1st Sabah Catholic Women's Convention on 6th - 10th September at Bundu Tuhan Retreat Centre
• Retreat and Annual Assembly on 25th - 28th November at St Martin's Church, Telupid

Cecilia D'Souza, the secretary and Patricia Kuit, the treasurer presented their annual report respectively. Parish CWA coordinators then took turn to present their verbal and written reports.
