CHRISM MASS CELEBRATED WITH JOY

Sandakan: Rt. Rev Julius Dusin Gitom, the Bishop of Sandakan celebrated the Chrism Mass, concelebrated by all the nine priests of the Diocese and four Indonesian visiting priests at St Mary's Cathedral on 23th March 2018. The tri-lingual mass was attended by more than a thousand parishioners.

His Lordship Bishop Julius Dusin Gitom in his homily, hopes that all parishioners will continue to be faithful in their communion with God and with one another, and also by supporting all the priests. “Pray for us the priests that we will remain faithful in saving souls. We should constantly be thankful to God for the life that Christ has given to us. The Vision and Mission belongs to God, but we, as children of God, must co-operate in implementing it”. 

Bringing forth the vessels of oil to be consecrated

After the homily, the clergy renewed their priestly commitment and unity with the Bishop. This was then followed by the blessing of the three Holy Oils: the Oil of the Sick, Oil of the Catechumen and Oil of the Chrism.

Renewal of their Priestly vows
