Tawau : In conjunction with Good Friday, a day of fasting and penance, parishioners of Holy Trinity Church gathered yesterday 22nd April 2011 at the Church compound for the tri-lingual Station of the Cross also called the Way of the Cross at 8.00 am. The event, commenmorating the condemnation, crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ is a way to reflect more deeply on the Scriptural accounts of Christ's passion.
The Good Friday Service in commemoration of the crucifixion of Christ, presided by Mgsr Nicholas Ong was celebrated at 3.00 pm. The celebrant, Msgr Nicholas Ong together with the lectors, Extra-ordinary Ministers of Communion and the mass servers processed solemnly into the Church and Msgr Ong prostrated himself in front of the altar. After the Liturgy of the Word, parishioners participated in the Veneration of the Cross in an orderly manner by kissing the Cross.
