Greetings
of peace and joy in the Lord!
We are pleased to announce that the 1st Malaysia
Catholic Campus Students’ Day (MCCSD 2015) is going to be held from 14 – 20
July 2015 in the Archdiocese of Kuching. MCCSD is the outcome from the
gathering of campus student leaders back in 2013 based on the five (5) common
threats identified as follows:
i. Not well grounded in the Catholic faith and lack commitment to Jesus Christ
ii. Cultural shock which makes them susceptible to the values of the world
iii. Proselytization – Conversion to other religion and denominations
iv. Struggle to cope with relationship and sexuality matters
v. Restricted use of campus facilities for religious gathering
The MCCSD will be an effective platform for campus student leaders to come together, listen to each other, to reflect, to exchange views, to pray together and be filled with informative and spiritual sessions. Hopefully, these may lead them to ask themselves how they can be good Catholics and contribute to the well-being of the society and the Church. The theme of MCCSD 2015 is: Be Witnesses of Christ in Your Campus Life – Called,
Chosen and Sent
The following are the objectives of MCCSD 2015:
i. To experience a personal and intimate mystical encounter with Jesus.ii. To have various faith formations through YouCat/Apologetics to equip students for ecumenical and IRD discussion.
iii. To create an awareness among students on their religious rights in their respective campuses through AUKU, colleges/university constitution and the Malaysian Constitution.
iv. To build a network between campuses to share ideas and concerns.
We
are expecting some 200 campus student leaders from the various campuses / universities /
institutions from all 9 arch / dioceses in Malaysia to attend the event.
