Raffle Draw in aid of the Sandakan Diocesan Pastoral cum Worship Centre

Sandakan : The Catholic Women's Apostolate of St Mary's Cathedral Sandakan tasked to raise fund for the Diocesan Pastoral cum Worship Centre through the raffle ticket sale held  the official draw today, 19th June 2011 at the Parish Hall, witnessed by some 200 parishioners.

The event, graced by Henry Wong , Chairman of the Diocesan Finance Council expressed his appreciation to the Catholic Women's Apostolate for their commitment in organizing the raffle. The fund raising exercise, though tough in the beginning has brought the members closer to one another and to God. The process has also given parishioners the opportunity to contribute freely towards the common good of the Church, without a part we are incomplete as Christ's faithful. He also disclosed that some RM2 million has been raised as of date for the RM3.5 million project scheduled to complete by year end.

The CWA, taking advantage of the draw also held a food sale with various types of delicious dishes prepared by the members and at the same time celebrated father's day.

Fr Philip Muji, the assistanrt rector who joined the event a little later, blessed all fathers present followed by the cake cutting ceremony together with representatives of the Church groups and communities on stage.

Below is the full result of the draw and as announced by Ferdee Marianno, Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, lucky winners may collect their prizes from Sylvester Ho, the Office-in-Charge of the Parish Office (089-212623) within three months. 

It was disclosed unofficially that more than RM20,000 has been raised for the event thus far and the final figure will be consolidated by Wednesday 22nd June 2011 during their final meeting of the project.
