Tawau : The annual Carols by Candlelight at Holy Trinity Church which heralds the coming of Christmas was held on 15th December 2012 as part of the preparation for the home caroling beginning the
following day, 16th December 2012.
The event was attended by some 900 parishioners, mostly members of the various BECs. It was held right after celebrating the 3rd Sunday of Advent at the Parish Hall, from 8.00pm to 10.30pm.
Carolers were commissioned, blessed and send off by Msgr. Nicholas Ong, the rector during the Sunset Mass. The carolers would reach out and bring good tidings to those whom they would visit.
Carols by Candlelight, celebrated as a yearly event is to drive home the full meaning of carols among the parishioners and especially to the
carolers who are going out to share the Good News to others by visiting homes.
The program began with the singing of carols by members of the combined BEC’S followed with presentations by the eleven participating groups. The program ended at 10.30 pm with a Closing Prayer led by Fr. David.
