Sandakan: About 65 parishioners and children responded to call for 'Gotong-royong' on Sunday, 19th December 2010 in preparation for Christmas.
Most were in high enthusiasm and showed their responsibilities to ensure our Cathedral in a conducive environment for Christmas.
It started with the Proclamation of the Word of God and opening prayer led by the PPC Chairman, John Baptis in front of the Statue of St. Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saints of animals and ecology. The statue is a reminder to all faithful to be aware and to take care of the environment and the creatures inhabiting the planet with love and concern.
