MAKAN AMAL PELAYANAN KATEKATIKAL PAROKI ST. DOMINIC

LAHAD DATU – Pada 26 Januari 2019 yang lepas, Pelayanan Katekatikal Paroki St. Dominic telah menganjurkan makan malam amal bagi tujuan untuk mengumpul dana dalam membina dewan ibadat. 

Rev. Fr. Simon memberikan ucapan sekaligus merasmikan makan malam amal ini.

Program bermula pada jam 2.30 petang dan dianggarkan seramai 800 umat hadir untuk menyokong program kali ini. Majlis makan amal telah dirasmikan oleh Rev. Fr. Simon Kontou, Paderi Paroki St. Dominic, Lahad Datu. Encik Sebastian turut memberikan ucapan terima kasih atas dorongan dan kerjasama daripada ahli jawatankuasa dalam menjayakan makan amal tersebut.

Di samping itu, pihak penganjur turut mengadakan pertandingan menari yang menampilkan beberapa kumpulan penari terdiri daripada Tampenau Crew, Epic wave, The blessed crew, Spirit Dancer, Voice at the Back dan Blink. Juara tarian telah dimenangi oleh Tampenau Crew dimana kumpulan ini terdiri daripada belia luarstasi Lahad Datu.

Selain itu, terdapat 45 orang umat Gereja St. Dominic telah memberikan ‘pledge' untuk dana bagi dewan ibadat gereja kita. Semakin ramai umat yang sedar akan kepentingan untuk sama-sama membangunkan gereja bagi keberkatan kita bersama dan ini cukup mengharukan.

Marilah bersama-sama dalam iman Katolik sentiasa menyokong akan usaha-usaha membina dewan ibadat ini. Semoga tujuan mulia ini diberkati selalu dan kepada semua umat, ribuan terima kasih diucapkan atas sokongan yang diberikan. Amen.

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

Sandakan: It was a great joy for the Catholic students of Maktab Rendah Sains MARA (MRSM) and Sekolah Seni Sandakan to be able to meet again for fellowship on 24th February 2019, at St Mary’s Cathedral Sandakan parish hall. The event is a pastoral reaching-out program of SYCC (Star of Yahweh Covenant Community) for outstation Catholic/Christian students who studied in Sandakan. In his welcoming speech, Michael Lai explained to the students especially those who just enrolled in form 1, that the objectives of this program were to let them know that the Church is always here to assist them. St. Mary church is here to bring Christ’s love and to provide faith formation to all when they are studying in Sandakan. He said, the church is concerned of their well-being and encourage them to participate in the activities organised by the church whenever they are free.

In this three hours fellowship also includes an hour of sharing and advise input centered on the subject of “Protecting your faith”, by Dr. Agnes Foo from Duchess of Kent hospital of Sandakan. The sharing had caught the students’ attention on why and how they can protect their faith in their boarding life environment. They were made to understand that living in a boarding school is challenging especially in keeping up with their faith. The sharing and advice from Dr. Agnes was not only invaluable exposure for the students at their present school life but can also be applied when they go further their studies in colleges or universities.

One of the activities laid-out was a birthday celebration for January and February borne students. This was planned so as to make them feel at home, a sense of belonging with the church even though they were far away from their local church and families.

Jesse Cathleen, of Sekolah Seni a form 4 student, said that she felt so happy and blessed to come to this fellowship gathering because through the Talk by the SYCC members she is able to know more about Jesus and helped her in strengthening her faith.

Raycole Dikson from Pitas, Kudat shared, “I have been joining this fellowship since 2015, when I was still in form 1. I am so grateful and feel so touched with the aunties and uncles as well as the SYCC youths whom never feel tired to welcome and cook food for us every time we have this monthly fellowship. This is also the time for us to praise and worship together as well as to be closed with our Lord Jesus. I am in form 5 now and soon I will be completing my study in MRSM. I will always remember this gatherings especially the joy and love of Christ shared by the Church.” Indeed, this fellowship helps the students to feel at home although they came from different parishes and districts in Sabah.

Through this reaching out students’ fellowship, the SYCC hopes will bring light to the students and glorify the Father in heaven as in Mat 5:13-16.

山打根聖瑪莉主教座堂 2019己亥年新春聯歡晚會

（山打根訊）一年一度的華協新春聯歡晚會順利于2月17日（年十三），晚上7時在活動中心舉辦。

當晚出席的嘉賓有Julius主教、主任司鐸 Fr. David、助理司鐸Fr. Christopher、鐘勝利神父、Sr. Regina、Sr. Martina、Sr. Rusiah、堂區牧靈委員會主席Mr. & Mrs. Pilis Malim及區堂財政主任Isaac 彭思彬，以及約350位來自各語文組的教友同歡共樂。

萬和體育會以《雙獅椿上顯神威》為晚會拉開序幕。兩隻醒獅在椿上舞動，另兩隻則爬上高台高掛對聯，他們靈巧且純熟的動作贏得了在場所有人的喝彩與歡呼。觀賞了精湛的舞獅表演後，華協副主席黃士南兄弟致歡迎詞並聯同全體華協理事于台上向所有出席者拜年。

主任司鐸 Fr. David致詞：「恭喜發財，新年快樂。歡迎出席今天的新春聯歡晚會。能夠邀請我出席今天的慶典，實屬榮幸。據說，生于豬年的人都是勤勞、愛好和平、真實、慷慨、放縱、耐心、可靠、信任、真誠、善良、善于交際、幽默和善解人意的人。

豬代表運氣、整體的好運、財富、誠實、普遍的繁榮 - 也許這是象征著我們這新的一年。

新春聯歡晚會已成為聖瑪莉主教座堂重要的慶祝活動之一。我們非常幸運，擁有多元文化社區。這是一個發展夥伴關系的好機會，那就是通過承認、珍惜和支持來自多元文化背景的人。這些慶祝活動再次展示了中華文化的豐富性和多樣性，也代表著我們堂區多樣性的共融。作為你們的本堂神父，我將繼續推廣和確保華人教友能夠參與並貢獻于我們堂區的發展，特別是現在我們有教區的偉視和使命作為我們的指南。

我希望豬年能為所有人帶來好處：財富、和平與力量。祝大家有一個美好的晚上。願天主祝福你們所有人！再次恭喜發財，新年快樂！」

隨后由Fr. David帶領餐前祈禱，大家在工作人員的帶領下，有秩序的領取食物。晚餐是以自由餐的方式進行。在享用美食佳肴的同時，大家也互相聯誼交流。餐後，便是余興節目了。

「聖母軍」率先出場呈獻兩首曲子：“迎春花 + 萬事如意”；接著是「聖經班」的“舞動健康慶豐年”(最炫民族風+勇氣棒嘟嘟)，雖然在台上的都已不是青春少艾，但“力道”和“氣勢”卻毫不遜色，台下的觀眾們紛紛拍爛手掌，贏得滿堂彩。

「聖馬爾谷堂」呈獻話劇“處處充滿愛，人間滿希望”，話劇后也呈獻兩首歌曲：“大團圓+嘻嘻哈哈喜洋洋”向大家拜年。

除了精彩的歌舞表演，當晚也准備了幸運抽獎環節。當晚的獎品共有47份獎品，分成2個環節進行，分別由Fr. Christopher及鐘勝利神父抽出幸運兒。更有一些家庭是“雙喜臨門”，連續抽中兩次。

晚會在Julius主教結束祈禱降福後于晚上9時30分圓滿結束。

2019农历己亥年（猪）新春联欢晚会

《斗湖讯》华人牧灵委员会属下礼仪小组于2月10日在海昇楼冷气餐厅举办新春晚宴。这次晚宴共开44席，比往年增了六席。这是因为堂区青年团，菲律宾及印尼牧灵委员会各派代表出席参与其中。今年的节目比去年丰富无穷，除了有合唱，独唱，才艺表演，扇子舞，幸运抽奖，敬老，小提琴及吉他演奏之外，本堂区也特地邀请来自教会学校如圣三中学及圣乌丝拉中学为我们呈现24节铃鼓及中国传统舞蹈。两位7岁可爱又活泼的表演者邓文欣及罗兆盈以华丽的服装及美妙的歌声呈现一首又一首的动听新年歌曲。名为“东方起武”的才艺表演配搭鲜红色的扇子由三姐弟陈宝瑄，陈凯乐及陈凯盛以生动流利的步伐演出。丰富舞台经验的刘会典姐妹再次以独特的嗓子为我们带来一首本土创作—“人生是过客”。此外，当晚在场表演歌唱及演奏也包括张文欣，许晶莹，吴楷莉，李轩圳，张文治及林姿廷姐妹。所有出席晚宴的来宾都以热烈的掌声回报他们精堪的演出。在最后一道菜端上甜品大家品尝之后，王蒙席为晚宴做结束祈祷并祝大家新年快乐。
