18 Receive Their First Holy Communion at St. Mary's Cathedral, Sandakan

Sandakan : 18 boys and girls from the English catechism class received their First Holy Communion on Saturday, October 9, 2010 during the 28th Sunday Sunset Mass held at St. Mary's Cathedral, presided by Fr Thomas Makajil. Accompanying them were their parents, godparents, Sunday School catechists and the parishioners.

Earlier in the morning they went for their first confession, the Sacrament of Reconciliation. To Catholic faithful, First Holy Communion is one of the holiest and most important events in their life.

Fr Thomas called on all parents to be good Christian role models, leading and guiding them in their faith journey.
